We can give you advice on a great mountain bike ride for the intermediate and above rider.  Learn the trails from people who love to ride.  Here you will find some descriptions of many of the popular trails and routes in Winter Park and the surrounding area. Enjoy!

Singletrack, double track and back country roads are everywhere! Trails are accessed from the Town of Winter Park and have something for everyone. From the entry level novice to the most hard core rider.

There have been a lot of trail improvements over the last few years. You can get great information from at Mountain Bike Capital USA which is the Winter Park Chamber website that we helped create.  We also have mountain bike trail maps at our store and can give you advice on some great trails to ride.

Here is a great map of the mountain bike trails it shows routes and loops throughout Grand County Colorado.  Brought to you by Headwaters Trails Alliance.

Winter Park is unique in that you don’t have to drive your bike to ride. You can hop on your bike and get to trails from just about any location. Trails start in town and connect to the 600 miles of trails in the national forest AND 2 world class bike parks in Trestle (Winter Park Resort) and Granby Ranch. No where else will you find this vast variety and quality on one place.

No need to drive to the trails. Park your car and leave it. Winter Park is a very bike friendly town. This is unique to mountain bike destinations.

Summer Trail Work

In early June of 2020 we had a large wind event called a derecho that took down many large trees in the trail system throughout Winter Park, Fraser and Grand County.  Thousands of trees fell down during this event and the last time that an event like this occurred was in 1994 and 2002.  Headwaters Trails Alliance worked on removing felled trees from this storm in addition to updating, maintaining and repairing trails.  The organization’s work was non-stop and  continued throughout the 2020 summer and fall seasons.   Visit Headwaters Trails Alliance:  Website

Biking Events

Need some advice or into the race scene? Owner Keith Sanders is a 3x National Mountain Bike Champion and the President of Grand Mountain Bike Alliance which is the local International Mountain Bike Association Chapter. We love biking and back it up by representing biking as a bike advocate.

There are so many biking events to choose from. Many times the problem is selecting the best event for not only competition but finding an event that is well organized and offers a great experience. We’ve raced just about every event in Colorado and many across the U.S. Click Here for mountain bike event information!

Local Bike Articles

We write a local weekly mountain bike article in the Middle Park Times and  Sky Hi Daily News. Search Mountain Bike if it is not on the front page.
